I scored as an INFP in the MBTI inventory. I am a people-oriented person who enjoys a good book after work and activities with friends after hours. Very little satisfies me more than when I play a part in helping people achieve their potential. I am as passionate about contributing to the development of others as I am to my own and have been involved in volunteer work since 2011. I had served as a befriender at a block of 1-room flats prior to my involvement with Christian Counselling Services since May 2015.

I have also been involved in counselling clients from a wide spectrum since I joined Executive Counselling & Training Academy (ECTA) in 2015 as Assistant Head of Department. I have counselled students and acted as an emergency response counsellor for various organisations such as Singapore Airlines during the SQ 368 fire incident. My other clients include Ngee Ann Poly. Singapore Pools, OCBC Bank, SMRT, Parkway College, etc.

While my clinical strengths lie in the Cognitive Behavioural approach, I am also keenly interested in other therapies such as mindfulness-based methods and Emotion-focused Therapy that have been proven effective in expanding the client's self-awareness. At the same time, I am also an accredited Prepare Enrich V facilitator. While I plan to eventually provide clinical supervision, I have also found that I enjoy teaching.

Even with my hobbies, I constantly look for ways to improve and am currently taking a class on kit modelling in order to enjoy this art better. My other hobbies include motorcycling riding, scuba diving and the occasional trip to the swimming pool. I am looking forward to try surfing and cross country touring.

I have 4 years of various part-time work experiences, done concurrently during my undergraduate days which helped provide for my tuition fees. They include being a financial consultant, a telemarketer, a bar crew at Zouk and a bartender at a restaurant. I have also been a teacher with MOE in a contract lasting 3 terms. The various experiences of success and failures have amalgamated, shaping my character to someone who is full of empathy, resourceful and determined in the face of adversity, giving me the ability to cast different perspectives on the challenges life throws at me.
